Sometimes businesses may have to handle various scams that con artists bring to their establishment. This may include the theft of personal company information or even the selling of fraudulent services or products under one's brand name. A Phoenix business attorney can steer an organization in the right direction when attempting to protect a company's reputation.

Recently, Disney Enterprises filed three lawsuits against individuals who allegedly sold fraudulent tickets to its park, according to local news station WFTV. One of these alleged con artists is Elena Tarano of Orlando, Florida. Tarano has been arrested three times over the last year for selling already-used tickets to Disney and Universal Orlando Resorts.

These lawsuits claim that the defendants infringed upon Disney's copyright and trademark rights. Tarano handles a ticket shop near Sand Lake Road in Orange County. Disney alleges that this is where the defendant sold the fraudulent tickets.

The theme park also claims losses due to this alleged con artist as Tarano has gained "profit and advantages" from her "wrongful acts." Along with these claims, the plaintiff states that her fraudulent activities led to a negative image of the park.

"Defendant’s marketing, advertising, distribution, sale or offer for sale of Invalid Multi-day Passes bearing the Disney Trademarks in Florida and in interstate commerce has and will cause likelihood of confusion, deception and mistake in that the buying public will conclude that the Invalid Multi-day Passes sold by Tarano are authorized, approved, or associated with Disney," the lawsuit states.

The other lawsuits allege that defendants Tahir Ansari, Dabeyba Fraketti and Jeffrey Almiron performed similar illegal acts.

Businesses that are looking to protect their public image as well as copyright and trademark rights may need to speak to a business attorney in Phoenix who can provide the necessary resources to help a company in a similar situation to Disney.
