Under Armour sues Armor & Glory

Athletic apparel manufacturer Under Amour has just filed a trademark infringement and unfair competition lawsuit against rival Armor & Glory LLC, claiming their competitor's own products and promotions can easily be confused with Under Armour's.
The Locus Point brand, which owns Under Armour, filed its complaint on August 7 in Baltimore's U.S. District Court, and is seeking damages as well as an injunction preventing the use of the Armor & Glory name.
Armor & Glory's products also bring a strong religious angle to the table. According to its website, they "design and deliver apparel we hope will motivate and encourage you to put on the whole armor of God and receive his glory." It adds that, "whether you are with your family or friends, busy working or playing, relaxing or engaging in physical fitness, we want you to be reminded of the strength of his armor and the moments of his blessings."
This isn't the first time Under Armour has filed trademark infringement lawsuit against rival apparel designers. Earlier this year, it sued a company called "Ass Armor" that designed and marketed shock-absorbing "butt protection" apparel for snow boarders. Beyond just riffing off its name the $3 billion company accused Ass Armor of copying its "Protect This House" tagline, by making their own "Protect Your Assets."
