Business owners and entertainers must keep track of all stipulations under the contracts they sign or they may face a potential lawsuit. Actors, comedians, singers and models encounter contracts in their everyday life and violating one may cause disputes between two parties under a signed agreement. In these situations, consulting a law firm in Phoenix could save much aggravation, such as in the case between world-famous model Naomi Campbell and perfume company Moodform Mission.

Campbell and the perfume agency settled the lawsuit on Thursday, June 28. The dispute began when Moodform Mission representatives accused Campbell of keeping the company from receiving its stipulated share of profits, according to CBS News.

Naomi Campbell's former modeling Agent, Carole White, developed the fragrance company in the 1990's by partnering with a cosmetics firm. White claimed that her business was cut out of millions of dollars in profits from the scents Cat Deluxe, Naomi Campbell and Seductive Elixir.

Campbell's contract with the fragrance company called for consistent payments to Moodform Mission when the perfumes went on the market in 2001. Most importantly, the lawsuit alleged that Campbell violated the agreement by signing another fragrance-licensing contract in 2008. This is when she stopped sending payments to Moodform, alleging that she was under another agreement at this point in time.

Campbell defended herself by asserting that she did not receive complete information on the agreement before signing her contract with Moodform Mission. Campbell claims she had no idea that White had a stake in the perfume company's agreement.

"If White had told me that she was a principal in [Moodform Mission], I would not have blindly trusted her advice to sign the documents that she brought to me," Campbell said in a statement. "White held a position of trust and confidence in my life, and I expected her to act in my best interests."

Other entertainers or business owners that need consultation before signing a contract should speak to a lawyer in Phoenix specializing in both entertainment and business law.
